Before creating this model, my children would typically agree outright on the toys or other entertainment items they wanted. However, as they’ve grown older, they’ve started to resort to “bargaining” or even trying to manipulate the situation if their requests aren’t met. In light of this shift, our family has decided to implement a reward system: children earn stars each day by consistently performing well according to a designated points checklist, and once they accumulate a certain number of stars, those stars can be redeemed for prizes. This approach not only helps foster positive habits in both their daily lives and academic pursuits but also encourages them to take responsibility for their actions.
