Beyond’s Huang Jiaju Statue – Huang Jiaju, born in Hong Kong, was a Chinese Hong Kong male singer, original songwriter, guitarist, lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and founding member of the legendary rock band Beyond.
In 1988, Huang Jiaju made his debut on the Hong Kong music scene with the song “Dadi.” That same year, he released the album “Secret Police.” In 1990, his hit single “Guanghui Suiyue” earned him the “Best Lyricist Award” from TVB. In 1992, he released the critically acclaimed album “Jixu Gemiing.” In 1993, he was honored with the “Endless Note Memorial Award” at the 16th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards. Huang Jiaju’s distinctive raspy voice—and his signature, trembling delivery on the final notes—became his unmistakable hallmark. He was a gifted musician, renowned for his exceptional songwriting and guitar skills.
