Introduction:
Mini Telescoping Sword No. 10 – Winged Lion Sword – Kensuke: Inspired by the iconic sword wielded by Leos, the protagonist of the anime “Dungeon Meshi,” this sword serves as a pivotal plot device and major narrative foreshadowing in the series. The overall proportions of the sword have been meticulously redesigned to suit 3D printing, while rounded edges ensure safe handling for children.
Work Overview:
“The Dungeon on Your Tongue” – “Dungeon Meshi” is truly an outstanding work, boasting exceptionally high-quality manga and animation! Highly recommended for those who haven’t yet experienced it—its delicate art style, bizarre yet logically consistent worldbuilding, intricate character details, countless subtle plot threads, ingenious design elements, masterful ensemble storytelling, seamless pacing, and a steady stream of unforgettable moments all combine to create a deeply heartwarming tale. What starts as a seemingly ordinary food-focused series unexpectedly unfolds into a rich tapestry of dungeon exploration, fantasy, combat, adventure, magic, monstrous creatures, real-world dilemmas, ethical quandaries, diverse races, and even plenty of comedic moments 😂.
🗡️ During their journey, Leos “secretly” takes possession of an armored monster—a parasitic entity that has attached itself to his sword—and names it Kensuke. Midway through the story, as the “Cleaner” begins to erode the sword’s core, Kensuke undergoes a dramatic transformation. In Episode 21 of the anime, during the Golden Village arc, Kensuke’s Winged Lion form is revealed for the first time—though hints of its gradual evolution had been subtly woven into earlier scenes, adding layers of detail and depth. This moment not only fulfills the prophecy that Leos and his companions would ultimately become the Dungeon’s masters, destined to save the labyrinth—but also establishes Kensuke as a critical plot device in the latter half of the series.
Model Details:
This is the 10th installment in my mini telescoping sword series, modeled using Nomad and Fusion 360. The entire piece is printed in one go, requiring no assembly—taking roughly 3 hours to print. Its dimensions are perfectly suited for both adults and children to enjoy. I plan to continue developing this series; recently, I’ve been exploring and honing my skills with Nomad, which has given me greater creative freedom to craft more models I love. It’s incredibly rewarding to see my designs come to life through hands-on modeling—something that AI-generated designs simply can’t replicate, no matter how efficient AI may be.
Parameter Notes: No brim is used, but supports are included. A central support structure is employed to prevent unwanted support material from forming along the blade’s midsection—other settings remain standard.
Additional Notes:
1. We recommend printing only one sword at a time—printing multiple pieces in a single batch increases the risk of failure.
2. While the model is relatively easy to print, a few warm weather tips to keep in mind: clean your build plate, raise the heated bed temperature by 5°C, and apply a light coat of adhesive or use a glue stick before printing.
3. If the first few layers of the model fail to adhere properly and you’re unable to complete the print, gently score the base layer with a utility knife to help release the print.
4. If a particular section of the sword doesn’t extend smoothly, it could be due to slight extrusion issues or layer misalignment in the middle. Try extending and retracting the blade several times—it should become smoother with each attempt.
5. The model was tested exclusively with PLA; if you choose to print with PETG, there’s a higher likelihood of adhesion issues or tight gaps that could affect the sword’s extension mechanism. We recommend drying your filament beforehand and adjusting the infill compensation based on your specific printing conditions.
