The initial inspiration for this model came from light-and-shadow paper cutouts, which rely on layering multiple intricately cut paper designs to create a vivid scene when illuminated by light.

After drawing my inspiration, I set out to blend this artistic concept with the urban landscapes we encounter in our daily lives—resulting in this final piece.

The overall concept and visual elements of the work are rooted in the ubiquitous signage found along city streets.

The piece is divided into two distinct thematic sections: a daytime setting characterized by warm tones that evoke the comforting glow of sunlight, and a nighttime scene rendered in reds and greens to capture the vibrant energy of late-night urban life. The finished work exudes a cyberpunk street aesthetic while also subtly recalling the nostalgic charm of Hong Kong’s streets in the 20th century.
