Update - Added a 1mm lip to base and lid for easier separation of parts.

A canister and lid for a Super8 film reel. The center post allows you to put smaller reels in larger canisters and not have the reel slide around.

The STL files were generated for a 50 foot Super8 film reel.

The OpenSCAD script was written to easily generate larger canisters for larger reels.

The REEL_RADIUS variable in the script is the only variable that needs to be adjusted to print larger canisters.

The PRINT variable controls which part is generated in OpenSCAD:

• 0 - Generate both base and lid
• 1 - Generate only base
• 2 - Generate only lid
