A fun mechanical fidget - 'semiautomatic' (fires 3 shots), prints easily without support, fits in the palm of your hand.

NOTE: This gun is pretty tiny and cute - but don't ever carry or threaten someone with items resembling firearms. It is illegal and immoral.

Designed to fire the small, cheap hair braid bands - though any small rubber band should work.

Small enough to print in a single go (on my not-huge 220x200mm Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro). Right and left handed variants included cuz why not.

Note that the pins are included as separate files, because I recommend you print them separately, as even minor layer shifts as part of normal multi-part printing can result in them being weaker. I recommend:

  • Printing them one-at-a-time, at your slicers 'high detail' setting (0.1mm layer height, bit slower, etc)
  • using a pair of wide pliers or a flat surface to slowly and firmly press them in
  • if they too tight, you can use a touch of sandpaper
  • if they are too loose, you can use a touch of glue.

Only 3 are needed, and they are small - so the slower-printing is much tedious than it sounds, only a few extra mins.
The pegs are also in the OnShape CAD- so you can adjust the peg tolerances to fit your needs.
If you already have (or can acquire) some metal M3 screws - even better. They sell cheap (<10$) metric screw kits on Amazon - I suggest every designer treat themselves to using metal metric screws. But the pegs are included for those who would rather print it all. You will need:

  • 1x 10mm M3 (near the barrel of the gun)
  • 2x 14mm M3 (two in the grip)

Optionally, there are also spots for a handful of pennies to give the grip a satisfying heft.

CAD'd in OnShape - if you want to make any tweaks / remixes.

Made to to go with my print-and-play 'Secret Hitler' boardgame kit
