I designed this holder primarily for my desk. I needed a way to keep my phone within easy reach while I work or play, but it’s versatile enough for a wide range of uses—from watching videos during breakfast to placing it on your nightstand.

What makes this model truly special is its finish. I wanted to experiment with a rope-like texture, and once I applied it, I was thrilled with the result.

Next, in the slicer settings, I used a very soft Fuzzy Skin material, which gives the holder an incredibly smooth, tactile surface and prevents it from looking like plain plastic. I’m confident that a textured filament would look absolutely stunning on this design!

My printing notes:

• Supports: Yes, I printed this model with supports. I tried to minimize their use, but they’re essential to ensure the braided structure turns out perfectly.
• Vertical printing: In the end, print orientation has a significant impact on both print time and the final outcome. I oriented the model vertically to avoid any potential warping on the side that would rest against the build plate.
• It’s durable—after using it for a while now, it still looks as good as the day I first printed it.
• Wall thickness: 2 layers
• Infill: 10%
• Nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm
