This is a simple cable grommet for running cables through exterior walls. It is designed to work with 7-7.5mm cable diameters but could be modified to accommodate larger or smaller cables. This should keep out drafts, dirt and bugs.

Installation instructions:

Step 1: Drill a ¾" hole in a suitable location

Step 2: Run your cable through the hole and route it wherever it needs to go

Step 3: Split the grommet and slide it over the cable with the small end pointing towards the hole you drilled. Make sure you do this on the desired side of the wall that you want sealed.

Step 4: Push the grommet into the wall until roughly 1/8" of the grommet is sticking out.

Step 5: Install the cover over the grommet and secure with (4) #8 screws. These should be outdoor rated if this is to be installed outdoors. NOTE: make sure the opening in the cover is facing down to help shed any rainwater.

Silicone can be used as an additional gasket if desired. A 2nd set of these could be used if running through a finished wall on both sides to help maintain a clean look. I am not responsible for any damage caused by use of this design.
