World of Warcraft themed weapon or shield for Dummy 13 with moving parts as a kit card? – Let’s try it! :)

Some goblin/gnomish engineering item was an obvious choice. Decided to go with some classic shield from Maraudon instance. Nice, large gear rotates around the round central part. Piece of cake. Hmm, but there is a screw in the center that rotates too. And in the opposite direction! OK, I guess it’s time to learn something about gears in Fusion ;)

Wasn’t that bad as I thought. Clearances are still fine at that size. Made some World of Warcraft themed fidget spinner in the process. I hope Tinkerer Gizlock will be proud of my work! ;)

How to print this model.

Standard 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. Both multi color and single color are fine. Clean the frame parts thoroughly, especially from the gears.

How to build this model.

Cut the parts from the kit card frame. Clean the remains of kit card around gears with sharp knife. Place the gears on the protruding pins and check if everything runs smoothly. If it’s not, check if printer not left any filament residue inside the holes. Model may require little bit of “break in” if gears are not cleaned. I revised tolerances at the top plate and it should be a snap fit. If for some reason it will popping out you may add a little bit of glue to the holes in top plate and then glue it to three protruding pins from the bottom plate. Do not glue gears! After that put the Dummy 13 hand grip at the back of the shield.
