Model origin

I loved the Monitor shelf designed by GiskardReventlo to display your beloved collectibles… or just to reclame some lost real estate

I reached out to him to get his authorization to make a gridfinity version of his great monitor shelf.

Model specificities

I then designed this 6x5 gridfinity shelf which mounts on top of your monitor.

It keeps the key features of the original model designed by GiskardReventlo

  • Fits curved or irregular-back monitors without any wobble!
  • Adjustable arm to fit for multiple displays thickness
  • Thin front “lip” suitable for thin bezel monitors

Depending on your monitor/television thickness, you should modify the arm angle until the shelf is more or less horizontal. I've also added to the print profile a longer arm which increases stability & supported weight for super-thin/slim monitors.

Additionally, more than one shelf can be coupled just using two small pieces of filament (max 14 mm long) which are adjusted in the shelf side holes (see photos)

The current 6x5 shelf requires a printer with 252 mm printing plate. I'll probably post later a 5x5 version as well that could be used in combinaison with the 6x5 version to fit better your monitor length (or printing plate).

Printing advices

The 6x5 gridfinity model requires a 252mm print bed, like my Elegoo Centaury Carbon.

Do not resize to keep gridfinity compatibility. I'll probably post later a 5x5 version (210mm).

The model does not need supports but would require minimal post-processing to remove mouse-ears brim to prevent warping. Let your plate cool down before removing the arm & plate to prevent warping, and to make the brim removing easy.

Ensure that painted brim is enabled if you modify the print profile in your slicer.

For PLA, it is very important to ensure you let your printer enclosure well open (both top lid and door open) to prevent warping (trust me, I had very bad experience until I found why this xf$à!ü$ model could not be properly printed).

With this in mind, the print is easy and painless.
