Unlike standard practice balisongs, this print-in-place model features M5 screw ports in the handles and blade, allowing you to customize the feel using hardware you probably already have.

The Story Behind This Design:
My son tried countless balisong models from various 3D sharing platforms. None felt right. Either the balance was off, they were too light, or they didn't provide the feedback he needed to improve his technique. So we designed our own—one that grows with the user, adapts to different styles, and actually helps train muscle memory through customizable weight distribution.

Why This Model Is Different:

Adjustable Weight System:

• Handle Weights: M5 screw ports (8mm thread depth) in each handle end. Longer screws = heavier handles.
• Extension Sleeves: Included models let you use even longer screws for maximum handle weight.
• Blade Weight: Optional screw hole through the blade with nut—add weight exactly where you want it.
• Experiment: Different screw positions and lengths completely change flip characteristics. Find your perfect setup.

⚠️ CRITICAL WARNINGS – PLEASE READ BEFORE PRINTING ⚠️

For Experienced Makers Only:
This is NOT a beginner print. Successful results require:

• A perfectly calibrated printer (the hinges WILL NOT move otherwise)
• Experience removing supports from complex mechanisms
• Manual dexterity for assembly (screws, nuts, extensions)
• Patience for the break-in process

Break-In Process:

1. After printing and support removal, gently begin working the handles
2. Gradually increase range of motion, twisting in different directions
3. Be patient—forced movement can break hinges
4. Repeated movement smooths the pivot points naturally
5. After hinges feel smooth, add ONE drop of light oil to each pivot

Safety First:

• Watch for pinch points during practice
• Be aware of your surroundings when flipping
• Start slow, build muscle memory gradually

Important Note on Design:
The blade shape is intentionally non-threatening and abstract—it does not resemble a real knife. This is a training tool and skill toy, designed for practicing hand coordination and wrist movements, not a weapon. Feel free to practice outdoors or in public spaces without concern.

You Can Also Practice Screw-Free:
The balisong functions perfectly without any weights installed. But honestly? The tunable weight system is what makes this model special. Experiment and discover how different setups change your flip.
