This project was inspired by the idea of giving new life to the battery from a broken Bluetooth speaker. Rather than tossing it out, I decided to repurpose it into a compact, pocket-sized power bank that packs a surprisingly powerful punch for its size.
For managing battery charging and discharging, I used a board powered by the IP5328P chip, which handles both USB charging of the internal battery and power delivery to external devices. The module I utilized is available here:

The 3D‑printed enclosure consists of two main components:
- A semi‑transparent top section that allows the LEDs on the board to remain fully visible
- A colored bottom section featuring embossed “Power Bank” lettering and a grid‑patterned side design for both aesthetic appeal and enhanced ventilation
The design also includes a function button that lets you monitor the battery’s remaining charge level.
The battery used in this build measures 19 × 37 × 69 mm, so the project was meticulously tailored around these precise dimensions. With just a bit of adhesive and careful assembly, the result is a small, lightweight, yet remarkably capable power bank—good enough to fully recharge an iPhone battery.
This is a straightforward and fun project, perfect for repurposing salvaged components and crafting a practical everyday accessory.
