The IRIS-T SL is a low‑altitude missile system developed by Diehl Defense in Germany (Diehl Defense), building upon its highly acclaimed IRIS-T short‑range air‑to‑air missile. The baseline IRIS-T SLS missile is essentially identical to the IRIS-T air‑to‑air missile, while the extended‑range IRIS-T SLM air defense system features a longer-range variant equipped with a boosted engine of increased diameter.
