Volthanis makes its home among rugged, sun-baked stone, its thick armored hide fitting right in against the cracked rock faces it hides among. Nothing about this creature is subtle, least of all its weapon of choice: a single, massive horn crowning its skull, built for one purpose only.

 

When Volthanis charges, that horn doesn't just gore, it detonates on contact, turning a single headlong strike into something closer to a controlled blast. Anything caught in front of it rarely gets a second warning.

About the Model & Painting
This piece already looks stunning in raw black, but with a dry brush finish it transforms into a true centerpiece artifact. The armored, cracked-stone hide was built up in bronze and gold for that rugged, weathered look, with the teeth picked out in silver for sharp contrast. A dot of gold in the eye finishes the look.
