Broke your favorite glasses? Don't throw away those expensive lenses!

This is a robust, fully 3D printable replacement frame designed to breathe new life into your existing lenses. When my original frames snapped, I didn't want to pay for a whole new pair just to keep using my perfectly good prescription lenses. So, I engineered this custom solution.

This design features a sturdy, modern, and slightly chunky aesthetic, available in both solid colors and exciting dual-tone options (as seen in the grey/black and all-black examples in the photos).

Key Features:

• Lens Salvage Operation: Specifically designed to securely hold narrow rectangular lenses salvaged from broken frames.

• Durable Hinge Design: Replaces flimsy standard hinges with a robust, hardware-fastened hinge system. It is designed so the threads grip directly into the plastic for exceptional durability and easy assembly. No more tiny, stripped optical screws!

• Print-in-Place Ready (or Easy Assembly): The design is optimized for FDM printing. The thick arms and sturdy front piece minimize the risk of warping and ensure a strong final product.

• Customizable Style: Print the frame front and arms in contrasting colors for a unique, personalized look.

Required Hardware:

• 2x M2.5x10mm Self-Tapping Screws (for the hinges). The screws thread directly into the plastic; no nuts are required.

  

Printing Recommendations:

• Material: PETG or ABS/ASA is highly recommended for durability, temperature resistance (if left in a car), and flexibility needed for lens insertion. PLA can work but may be brittle.
