These are brackets to lower the spool holders on the stock Centauri Carbon 2 to the same level as the Emoji edition. This allows for mods that mount the Canvas system lower, such as the design by Printed Raw Designs. 

 

I tried just dropping the mounts down one screw hole and only using one bolt to mount them to the frame, and while that put them at a height that allowed me to mount the Canvas system lower, eventually the torque pulling the filament up would loosen the bolt, and cause a filament jam. So I designed these to drop the spool holders to the same level as the Emoji edition, which comes factory with a low mounted Canvas system. 

 

These utilize the factory bolts to mount them to the frame, then you will need three m3x6 bolts and two m3x12 bolts. 

 

OPTIONAL: In the back of the spool holder mount, there is a metal threaded insert from the factory that isn't typically used. It also fits an M3 bolt. I added a bolt hole in the back of my bracket to allow you to run an M3x8 bolt through the bracket into the back side of the spool holder mount. This is 100% not required, and is probably overkill, but it's there if you really want to make sure the spool holders are mounted solidly. 

 

Depending on settings (I use 3 walls): about 14g filament and a 35 min print. PETG or PLA. No supports required.

 

DIRECTIONS: 

  1. Remove the spool holders from the factory mounts. 

  2. Remove the mounts from the frame. 

  3. For the longer TOP bracket, place the mount between the grooves on the lower end of the bracket. Make sure the mount is facing the right direction. (Grooves face UP). 

  4. Secure it to the bracket with two M3x6 bolts. OPTIONAL: Run an M3x8 bolt through the back of the bracket into the threaded metal insert in the spool holder mount. 

  5. Secure the bracket to the frame using the factory M3x10 bolts (or optionally you can change them out for the M3x10 bolts linked below)

  6. Snap the spoolholder back on the mount as normal. This drops the top spool holder down 40mm from the factory location. 

     

For the shorter BOTTOM bracket:

  1. Place the mount between the grooves on the lower end of the bracket. Make sure the mount is facing the right direction. (Grooves face UP). 

  2. Secure it to the bracket with one M3x6 bolt in the LOWEST hole.  OPTIONAL: Run an M3x8 bolt through the back of the bracket into the threaded metal insert in the spool holder mount. 

  3. Secure the bracket to the frame using the factory M3x10 bolt for the TOP hole. (or optionally you can change them out for the M3x10 bolts linked below)

  4. For the middle hole, you will use a M3x12 bolt. It is long enough to go through the mount, the bracket, and into the frame. 

  5. Snap the spoolholder back on the mount as normal. This drops the bottom spool holder down 20mm from the factory location.

Any similar kit will work, though the model was designed to accommodate the bolts, which have a 3mm tall x 5mm wide head, and uses a 2.5 Allen wrench

 

NOTE: There are two designs included. One features a flatter neck, and the other one is a thicker neck. They work the same, and it's merely an aesthetic choice which one you use. They use the same size bolts and installation procedure. 

 

I've also included the STEP file for remixes. I had originally designed these longer for a deeper drop, but it dropped the lower spools to almost touching the ground. It worked, but it was close. I opted to shorten both of them to more closely match the Emoji mounting locations. But if you want to drop them lower, you're free to redesign them to your custom length. I just ask you credit me with any posted remixes.
