In the final year when the Great Gourd Mountain was sealing away the Serpent and Scorpion Demons, the pangolin accidentally burrowed through the mountain while digging, inadvertently breaking the seal. Taking advantage of the situation, the Serpent and Scorpion Demons escaped, but the pangolin itself was crushed beneath a collapsing boulder. Fortunately, a kind-hearted old man happened to pass by and pushed the massive rock aside, saving the pangolin’s life.
