- The “Five Blacks” Standard: This refers to black fur, black tongue, black nose, dark eye circles, and black claws. The dog’s entire coat should be a uniform black, with a possible bluish-gray or rust-colored sheen in sunlight; the tongue surface may have large dark patches or be entirely bluish-black; the nose leather must be pure black; the eyelids and the skin around the eyes are black; and both the paw pads and nails are black.
- Body Type: This breed is classified as small to medium-sized, with a shoulder height of approximately 45–55 centimeters and a weight of about 20–30 kilograms. The body is compact and well-proportioned, with smooth muscle definition, a sturdy skeletal structure, and a tail that is typically either a “coin tail” or a “sickle tail.”
