Inspired by the movie “Ip Man,” I’ve always wanted to throw ten punches—each one a powerful, precise strike. I decided to learn the “Japanese-style Punch” and practice against those pesky Japanese invaders!
I happened to come across a tutorial on TikTok showcasing the proper technique for the Japanese-style punch, which led me to design and 3D‑print this training aid.
The fist and handle are printed as a single piece, with a pre‑set gap of 0.3 mm on both sides. If the parts don’t rotate smoothly after printing, it’s likely due to material shrinkage—just apply a bit of gentle pressure to separate the two components where they’re stuck together.
The central connecting housing should be secured with adhesive to prevent it from coming loose during intense, high‑impact movements later on.
For an even smoother feel, you can lightly spray some WD‑40 onto the moving parts.
