Background story

The situation is this: my wife decided to cosplay as Jinx, but shoes like hers are impossible to find in our region. We managed to find something similar, but it was far from ideal.

The toe wasn’t rounded, and there was a rubber insert above the sole.
I took a photoscan of the shoes and modeled everything you see here on top of it.
Overall, all parts are very detailed — although, in my case, I lost most of that detail after several iterations of sanding and priming.

I should also mention that I didn’t get everything printed successfully on the first try. I had some adhesion issues, so I recommend being patient.

And now for the bad news:

The toe parts fit perfectly — they even worked on my own sneakers.
However, the heel parts will require some additional manual adjustments. I strongly recommend printing the heels with PLA.

Most people know this, but just in case: PLA becomes soft in boiling water. So — put on your shoe, dip the printed part in boiling water for a few seconds, and when it softens, press it firmly against the heel.
Repeat the process a few times until you’re happy with the fit.

You can see in the photo how much I had to bend the model to make it fit.
