I switched from sealed silica bags to these self-printed boxes. The goal of this change was:

  • Ease of use: It was particularly important to me that the boxes are easy to remove.
  • Condition monitoring: The condition of the silica gel should be easy to assess.
  • Additional benefit: The boxes also serve as weights.

One challenge was that the Bambu Lab spools have slight dimensional variations. This means the boxes do not always slide in smoothly. So far, I’ve tested the model with 10 spools, and it could always be inserted, with varying degrees of pressure.
