“Cormorant” AS34is a short-range, sea-skimming air‑to‑surface missile developed by Germany’s DASA (Daimler‑Benz Aerospace). It is primarily designed to engage naval vessels exceeding 1,000 tons in displacement. The missile was jointly developed by Germany’s MBB (which later merged into DASA) and France’s Thomson-CSF, officially approved for development in 1967 and fielded aboard German Navy F-104G fighter jets in 1977, with a total production run of 350 units.
