What would happen if you could only see to your left and right? Up? Down? What about both at the same time? Vision is an amazingly powerful sense, this piece is an effort to explore the effects of altering your vision. These glasses are built like PVC pipes, starting with a pair of glasses that fit onto two tubes, that in turn connect to two 90º angle joints which finally fits onto a second set of tubes.

The effect is that of wearing a periscope over each eye. The viewer can choose to see the world through a combination of up, down, right or left.

NOTE
For this piece to work properly you will need two pieces of 2’’ x 3’’ mirror and 4 rubber bands. The mirror pieces must be placed on the corner joints and attached with rubber bands in order for the user to see with the periscope.
