Functional LED Lamp and Camera Support for Anycubic Kobra 3

This project is a simple yet powerful upgrade designed for the Anycubic Kobra 3. It combines an adjustable COB LED lamp with an optional camera holder to improve visibility and functionality, whether you want to monitor prints or create stunning time-lapse videos. It’s an economical and effective solution that’s easy to assemble and use.

Included Files

This project comes with the following STL files:

  1. Base: Available in two versions:

  • base.stl – Standard version.

  • base+camera_holder.stl – Version with a built-in camera holder.

  1. Lamp: lamp.stl

  2. Caps:

  • cap_1.stl

  • cap_2.stl

  1. PETG Support: PETG_support.stl

Additionally, a pre-conpd file (lamp.3mf) is included, which is ready for printing with all the necessary settings, including material assignments and slicer configurations.

Important Printing Instructions

  • Material Configuration:

  • Import lamp.stl and PETG_support.stl together as a single object in your slicer.

  • Assign PLA to the lamp and PETG to the support.

  • Why PETG for the support? PETG ensures that the support can be removed cleanly after printing. Using other materials may result in the support permanently bonding to the lamp, making it impossible to remove.

  • Pre-conpd File:

  • Use lamp.3mf if you prefer a plug-and-play approach. This file includes all necessary settings for material assignments and print parameters.

  • M5 Nut Insertion:

  • After slicing, pause the print at the specified layer (41) to insert an M5 nut into the designated slot in the lamp. Resuming the print will securely embed the nut, which is essential for the final assembly.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Once printed, prepare a 5V COB LED strip, Insert the LED strip laterally into the lamp body and feed the power cable through the hole in the base into the lamp.

  2. Solder the positive and negative wires of the LED strip, secure the caps (cap_1.stl and cap_2.stl) to enclose the wiring, and glue them in place.

  3. Align the lamp and base (with or without the camera holder) and glue them together for a sturdy assembly.

This project offers a unique and efficient solution for the Anycubic Kobra 3, improving lighting and enabling professional-quality time-lapse videos. With its modular design and practical enhancements, it’s a must-have for anyone looking to take their 3D printing experience to the next level.
