At home, I have a fish tank with lots of shrimp. Every time I go to the rural stream to “restock,” I always find that the standard dip net isn’t very effective. Not only is it too short, but its round opening doesn’t fit snugly against the streambed, causing most of the shrimp to slip away. That’s why I designed this lightweight, easy-to-use shrimp-catching tool.

With dimensions of 150×150×75 mm, this device can catch not only black-shell shrimp and big-eyed crabs, but also blue crabs, crucian carp, and minnows. Its 5-mm spiral mesh ensures even tiny shrimp escape precisely, helping protect the stream ecosystem and preventing overfishing.

Paired with 8–10 M3×8 hex screws, the connection between the tongs and the catching basket is exceptionally sturdy. The model I bought has relatively thick material, so it feels quite heavy in actual use. For children, it might be better to choose a lighter, thinner version from another brand.
