Drawing inspiration from the water jars found in the traditional dwellings of ancient towns—objects that have stood quietly through the passage of time, once serving as humble helpers in daily life and now gracefully contributing to the scenic beauty of the area—I conceived this piece. Building on this idea, I added a base and arranged the jars in ascending order of size, aligning their rims into a straight line to function as a book stand. Step by step, these elements grow into an ever-larger vessel, much like the process of diligent study and consistent creative practice, enabling one to become a truly accomplished individual who surpasses their past self. This is how the “Path to Greatness: A Dual-Function Pen Holder and Book Stand” came to be.
