After extensive experimentation, we found that directly hollowing out a heart-shaped object requires supports; however, supports can compromise print quality. This led us to explore ways to create a hollow heart without using supports—by simply inverting the design and adjusting the base of the calligraphy tube accordingly. The result was our first support-free, hollow heart print: “Calligraphy Tube with Heart.”
