Shanhai Jing Mech Series XI – “Taowu” Wheeled Assault Armored Vehicle

This series features mechs inspired by mythical creatures from the Shanhai Jing. We also offer the Ba Gua Mech line—each model is based on the renowned mountains and rivers of China’s provinces, such as Chaohu Lake, Mount Li, Badaling, and Namtso—and the Mythical Mech series, which draws its designs from legendary figures like Sun Wukong, Yang Jian, and the Ox Demon King.

No supports are required for printing (simply add a skirt to the build plate if it doesn’t adhere well), and assembly requires no glue or hardware—just apply firm pressure or gently tap with a small hammer if parts feel a bit tight. This is an incredibly convenient Chinese-style assembly model!

Taowu (táo wù)

One of the Four Evils in ancient Chinese mythology. Taowu resembled a tiger in size but had fur akin to that of a dog; its coat was long and shaggy, its face somewhat human-like, its legs more like those of a tiger, and its mouth bore tusks reminiscent of a wild boar—a pair of long, curved tusks. Its tail stretched a full eight feet in length.

Zhuanxu had a wayward son who was impossible to teach, incapable of understanding spoken words—reprimand him and he grew stubborn; leave him alone and he became even more unruly. He was arrogant and cruel, defying moral principles and disrupting the natural order of heaven. The people of the world called him Taowu. —Zuo Zhuan, Year 18 of Duke Wen
