Zhangjiakou Dajingmen is the only gate along the Great Wall, located in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. As one of the key passes on the Ming Dynasty Great Wall, it served as the northern gateway guarding the capital and a vital transportation route connecting the frontier regions with the interior. A strategically crucial site contested by military leaders throughout history, Dajingmen also functioned as a bustling border crossing for trade and cultural exchange between the Mongol and Han peoples—and today, it’s recognized as a national 4A‑level scenic area.
