This is a mechanical puzzle Lu Ban lock / mystery storage box created using 3D printing. Its exterior perfectly replicates the standard six-sided dice shape and belongs to the puzzle box category—ideal for escape room challenges or trendy handmade toys.
Appearance disguise: The outer appearance looks exactly like an ordinary dice, with hidden mechanisms triggered by the numbered holes; from the outside, you can’t tell how it opens or closes.
Mechanism and puzzle core: You must press, slide, and rotate the corresponding numbered circular holes in a specific sequence to release internal latches and unlock the box.
Storage purpose: With a hollow interior, it can hold rings, earrings, miniature jewelry, small keepsakes, or surprise gifts, making it perfect as a creative gift, an escape room prop, or a desk stress-relief toy.
I’ve produced two versions: one is a multi-color print (NO AMS), which delivers superior printing quality but requires assembly; the other is a single-color print version, simpler to assemble but lacking the visual appeal of the multi-color option.
I have made two versions: one is a multi-color print (without AMS), which offers superior printing quality but requires assembly; the other is a single-color print version, which has a simpler assembly process but does not match the quality of the multi-color version.

Here are the assembly steps:
