I’ve long wanted to build this “Exploration Train” for the game “Bungou Stray Dogs”!
I feel that the train itself resembles a revolver, and it also incorporates a gacha mechanic.
Therefore, turning it into a “gun” that shuffles cards via a revolving cylinder and then randomly draws items seemed perfectly fitting.
Initially, I planned to design it so that there would always be a guaranteed outcome—never a dud—but later realized that such a setup would make the overall structure too small and impractical. Instead, I decided to simply let players draw five-star items directly.
And so, this gacha-style train came to life.

By the way, I actually finished modeling the Bungou train half a year ago. Back then, I had already intended to create a multi-colored version, but the workload turned out to be overwhelmingly large.
I’ve been working on it intermittently ever since, right up until 2026.

Here’s a brief explanation (mainly showcasing some details): The model consists of roughly 100 separate parts, each painted in different colors—a process that took quite a long time.
Additionally, many of the steampunk-inspired components feature rather intricate designs. Although I tested nearly every part multiple times, ensuring that no matter how I arranged them, they could still print successfully, the final results still heavily depend on the printer’s condition. My recommendation is to keep each print job as compact as possible, apply plenty of model glue, and set the printing speed to around 50%.
