We tend to view great scientists as distant, almost untouchable icons—their personas always serious and profound, separated from our ordinary world by an invisible veil. Yet perhaps even they, on a lazy afternoon, will instinctively raise a hand to shield their eyes from the blinding sunlight; or perhaps they’ll be wrapped in a cozy sweater, lost in their own thoughts.

That’s why I chose to reimagine this scientific giant in a chibi-style, more relatable and everyday form. His signature tousled hair and beard are retained as symbols of wisdom, but his squinting eyes and slightly mischievous expression instantly make him warm and endearing.
