Short, portable T12-to-standard T12 soldering iron core

         Two models are provided; we recommend using high-temperature-resistant filaments such as PETG or ABS!

         0. The extension sleeve is designed with a stop that keeps the heating element of the T12 tip at a greater distance. My yellow-printed part has been in use for over a year without any deformation or damage.

However, for safety and durability, we do not recommend using low-temperature-resistant filaments like PLA to print this accessory.

         1. The extension is used to convert the portable T12 into a standard T12 soldering iron core with an M6 threaded insert.

         2. The standard T12 has two protruding stops; when using the extension sleeve for portable operation, the first protrusion closest to the heat source must be symmetrically ground down to create four recesses to accommodate the extension sleeve’s stop mechanism.

If these recesses are not ground, the standard T12 can still be forcibly inserted into the extension sleeve, but the stop function will no longer be secure.

         3. The small threaded insert serves as a backup for the original insert; it can be used as a replacement if the original is lost.

         4. The threaded insert is modeled as a standard M6 × 0.5 solid thread. Due to limitations in printer precision and other factors, if the printed thread quality is unsatisfactory, you will need to manually screw in the self-tapping portion to complete the remaining unprinted threads.
