The screws use M2 connectors, and the battery compartment can accommodate up to 8 18650 cells in a series‑parallel configuration, with a recommended 4S2P setup. The protection board can be any 4‑cell series—just ensure the overall dimensions (length and width) fit within the battery compartment. Use high‑current connectors like XT60 for over‑current protection.
When you only own a single Makita tool, purchasing a dedicated battery pack can be quite wasteful. Instead, you can repurpose your existing 18650 cells, lithium‑ion protection boards, and XT60 connectors to build one or more custom battery packs tailored for Makita devices.
