The Boberg XR9‑S is a 9×19mm bullpup‑style micro‑semi‑automatic pistol manufactured by Boberg Arms in the United States. It entered full production in 2011 as a high‑end concealed carry weapon, was discontinued in 2015, and its design patents were later acquired by Bond Arms, which subsequently refined it into the BullPup9. Conventional pistols feed ammunition forward into the chamber, whereas the XR9‑S employs reverse feeding combined with rotary‑barrel locking, making it an exceptionally rare bullpup‑configured firearm: the chamber is positioned behind the trigger, and the slide’s cartridge‑gripping claw reverses the cartridge from the magazine, pulling it backward before pushing it forward into the chamber. Its advantage lies in enabling a longer barrel within the compact dimensions of a pocket pistol, delivering higher muzzle velocity compared to traditional subcompact handguns of similar size.
