  • Makita 21V Battery Balancing Port

This is specifically designed forMakita’s third-party battery case kit— a solution we’ve been considering for quite some time. When batteries are repeatedly charged with standard chargers, their capacity gradually diminishes: they drain quickly after just one use, yet fill up almost instantly when recharged. This issue arises because each individual cell in the battery pack has a slightly different voltage. As the voltage of a single cell rises too rapidly, the charging detection circuit will cut off power once it senses that one cell has reached 4.2V. Over time, the voltage imbalance between cells grows larger with each charge cycle, leading to reduced battery longevity. Retrofitting a balancing charger delivers excellent results—there’s no need to disassemble the battery pack every time for balancing, which helps prevent accidental wiring errors that could damage both the balancer and the cells. By extending the battery’s lifespan and ensuring that each charge cycle delivers a full 100% capacity, you’ll enjoy smoother, more reliable performance while working.
