The Idea Guy

  • Box

  • Pen Holder

  • Storage

This is a 3D-printed pen holder that recreates the aesthetic of 1990s urban residential buildings, taking the nostalgic, everyday charm of old apartment blocks as its inspiration. It condenses weathered perimeter walls, iron-grated school gates, and venerable street-corner trees into a miniature urban scene—serving both as a practical desktop organizer and as a retro decorative piece that evokes the memories of ordinary city life.

  • The hollow interior of the residential building body is divided into separate storage compartments, perfectly accommodating pens, craft knives, rulers, paintbrushes, and other stationery items.

  • The tiered opening design allows for the storage of slender writing instruments while also providing space for larger tools like scissors and compasses, striking a balance between practicality and faithful recreation of the original setting.

Craftsmanship and Texture

  • Made using high-precision 3D printing in a single-piece construction, the architectural textures, brickwork details, and relief decorations are all rendered with exceptional clarity, with no visible layer lines.

  • The material is wear-resistant engineering plastic, finished with a matte surface to replicate the aged, mottled texture of historic buildings while ensuring durability for everyday use.

  • The entire piece features a modular design, with components such as the courtyard gate and trees being detachable, allowing users to customize the scene layout according to their preferences.
