The armed police armored vehicles are designed for counter-terrorism and stability maintenance, armed patrols, emergency response and area lockdowns, as well as key-site defense. Unlike the PLA’s field infantry fighting vehicles, these vehicles place less emphasis on heavy firepower and instead prioritize urban mobility, riot control capabilities, and personnel transport. They are divided into two main categories: 6×6 medium-sized wheeled riot-control armored vehicles and 4×4 light armored assault vehicles.
