The five-pointed star’s angular ridges are rendered in vivid three-dimensional detail, effectively addressing the issue of filament adhesion and edge smearing that often occurs with single-piece prints.

Made from PLA material, it features a fresh color scheme of light blue and pink-white, evoking an oceanic aesthetic. Inside, multiple sets of planetary gears work in tandem—gripping the central axis to rotate while simultaneously spinning and orbiting—providing smooth damping and producing a subtle mechanical sound; a silent version makes it ideal for offices or classrooms. With a compact palm-sized design, the outer ring includes a built-in loop for easy attachment as a keychain.

Advantages of modular printing: if the starfish’s outer ring becomes damaged, it can be reprinted independently, saving materials.
