This educational abacus is optimized through FDM 3D printing and rigorously adheres to domestic elementary school arithmetic‑tool standards: one upper bead represents the number 5, while four lower beads represent the number 1, with a full ten columns of digits, perfectly supporting addition, subtraction, and place‑value exercises for younger students.
The model is entirely modular, with no monolithic bonded structures, resulting in low printing difficulty and high tolerance for errors—even beginners can achieve successful prints on their first attempt. Paired with a matching dust‑proof cover strip, the beads can be neatly concealed when not in use, keeping the device clean and protected.
Key design advantages:
Print‑friendly: All components feature minimal overhanging surfaces, requiring little support material, which saves both filament and printing time; it’s also fully compatible with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle.
Modular assembly: The base, shafts, upper and lower beads, and dust‑proof strips are modeled separately and assembled via interlocking tabs—no glue required—and damaged parts can be reprinted and replaced individually.
Multi‑color DIY flexibility: The base, crossbars, and beads are designed as separate parts, allowing you to print them in different colors to create color‑coded sections, enhancing children’s visual understanding of numbers.
