Huajiaqin Monitor Box (CMCC-V2 Version)

I. Design Inspiration

This model replicates the exterior of China Mobile’s Huajiaqin CMCC‑V2 indoor spherical camera, featuring a split upper-and-lower hemispherical assembly. It faithfully reproduces both the gimbal‑rotating sphere and the base housing, compatible with the same surveillance mechanism for DIY shell replacements. This design caters to equipment maintenance, replacement, and custom aesthetic modifications, while closely mirroring the original manufacturer’s smooth, rounded spherical form.

II. 3D Printing Process

The entire shell is printed using PLA filament, resulting in seamless, smooth curved surfaces without visible layer lines or step artifacts. Each mounting lug and screw hole incorporates a 0.1 mm clearance to accommodate standard fasteners. With no large overhanging structures, only minimal support is required at the bottom interfaces. The separate components can be printed individually, ensuring high precision when assembled—eliminating the need for extensive sanding or post‑printing refinements.

III. Structure and Functionality

The dual hemispherical shells encase the lens gimbal, with dedicated cutouts for lens viewing that do not obstruct night vision or image capture. The detachable base features a square cable outlet for convenient power‑cord routing. Mounting lugs are strategically positioned around the perimeter, enabling easy disassembly and access to the internal mechanism for maintenance. Overall, the rounded, continuous surface avoids sharp edges or corners, perfectly aligning with the internal module of the original Huajiaqin V2 surveillance device.
