• Wind speed test model

This is a 3D-printed cup-type anemometer model based on a classic design, crafted entirely in pure white with a distinct textured surface that clearly reveals the layer-by-layer structure of 3D printing.

  • Structural Design: The top of the model features four hemispherical hollow wind cups evenly distributed in a cross-shaped symmetrical arrangement. This classic cup-style design harnesses wind power to drive the cups’ rotation, with rotational speed maintaining a stable direct proportion to wind speed—making it an ideal teaching aid for demonstrating fluid dynamics principles in physics education.
  • Manufacturing Process: A cross-shaped support base at the bottom connects to the upper cup assembly via a central vertical spindle, creating an ingenious mechanical transmission system. The entire piece is produced using FDM fused deposition modeling; its integrated printed structure ensures smooth rotation without the need for additional assembly.
  • Application Scenarios: It can serve as a simple tool for meteorological observation, while also functioning as an excellent desktop display piece that highlights the value of 3D modeling and printing technologies in replicating scientific instruments.
