The seventeenth Cat Tarot card, also known as the Sixteenth Arcana—the “Tower”—can be customized with additional parts to turn it into a hanging plaque, a bookmark, or even a divination tool. By attaching a magnetic backing, it can double as a fridge magnet, making it incredibly versatile!

The once-impregnable Tower is struck by a sudden bolt of lightning, causing it to collapse in an instant and burst into flames. This thunderous storm symbolizes divine wrath and punishment. The Tower represents materiality, while the crown atop it stands for authority and achievement. When the crown is struck down, it foretells that power, wealth, and accomplishments will all be reduced to nothing in this abrupt upheaval. The two cats plummeting headfirst from the collapsing tower, their terrified expressions, underscore the inevitability of being caught off guard by unforeseen disaster. The towering height of the Tower and its crown embody human arrogance and complacency—precisely the root cause of destruction—and evoke the biblical story of the Tower of Babel. The dark clouds signify calamity, while the black background hints at a period of darkness ahead. If luck truly exists, then the odds of misfortune and good fortune are equally distributed for everyone.

Among all 22 Major Arcana cards, the Tower is undoubtedly the most unsettling. It is the only card that, whether upright or reversed, no matter how you interpret it, invariably points to negative outcomes. The only difference lies in the degree of negativity and the individual’s ability to accept it.

When the Tower appears in a tarot reading, it is often associated with devastating events; simply put, it signifies “everything is unfavorable.” Whether it’s investing, taking an exam, pursuing love, or managing family life, if the Tower shows up, things are unlikely to go smoothly. And if other ominous cards like Death also appear at the same time, the reader must caution the querent to prioritize personal safety, remain calm during this period, and avoid taking unnecessary risks.

However, in many cases, the appearance of the Tower does not necessarily mean actual destruction; rather, it reflects our inner fear of ruin—the way our anxiety about sudden change and catastrophe gets magnified beyond measure. Therefore, there’s no need to panic excessively when the Tower comes up, especially if the rest of the spread doesn’t carry clear connotations of devastation. The world may not be as perfect as we imagine, but it’s certainly not as bleak as we fear either.

P.S.: The Tower is a truly magical card. Aside from the initial material issues, the very first instance of noodle-like filament extrusion using a 0.2mm nozzle occurred precisely with this card—clearly indicating that “everything is indeed unfavorable,” haha. Among the remnants of that failed print, I even managed to salvage the remains of a little cat—but later, inexplicably, it vanished without a trace.

The card face is an original design, measuring 8×12 cm with a thickness of 2.8 mm.
 

For optimal results, we recommend using a 0.2mm nozzle; however, a 0.4mm nozzle will also print normally, as shown in the image below.

Materials used:
If you’re printing with standard Ams filament, that’s fine; but if you’re using non-Ams filament,

start by printing in black,

switch to red on layer 10,

change to sunshine yellow on layer 19,

and finally switch to white on layer 27.
