A set of tabletop game pieces has been designed, set against the backdrop of the golden age when alchemical machinery and magical civilizations reached their zenith. Much of the land was devastated by magical bombs akin to nuclear weapons, while pervasive magical radiation triggered widespread biological mutations.
The character in question is the “Arcane Scavenger”
The rarest Arcane Scholars in the Wastelands—guardians of the magical legacy of the Radiant Age, hailing from the “Library Tower” settlement: a community of scholarly descendants who narrowly preserved a corner of the Imperial Library amidst the Great Collapse and Cataclysm.
They spend their days traversing abandoned magic towers and ancient university ruins, recovering lost Arcane tomes and deciphering ancient magical runes. Their round‑framed goggles shield them from the blinding magical energies lurking within the ruins, while their staffs—crafted with source crystals embedded at the tip—can channel magical energy to cast protective and offensive spells, purify small pockets of toxic miasma, and unlock the mechanisms of antiquity. They are the “living encyclopedias” of the Wastelands, the only ones truly capable of comprehending the knowledge of the Radiant Age—and the sole hope for activating the ancient purification devices that could save settlements overrun by toxic miasma. Most surviving communities accord them great respect and honor.
