  • DIY Painted Display Pieces

Years ago, I created this project as a practice piece for next‑generation game development. Later, I tweaked it and repurposed it as a test model for stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing.

Back when I first modeled it, I never imagined it would ever be printed—my main focus was on aesthetics, without giving much thought to structural stability. The original design featured a “space alien” that seemed to hover mid‑air,

which naturally resulted in a rather top‑heavy, unstable build. I’ve since made some adjustments to address this issue.

The file is exported in STL format for resin-based SLA printing, with the model split into two parts: the body and the weapon. While you could technically assemble them into a single piece, you’d likely run into various minor issues—especially since the sword and tail are quite long—so it’s best to print them separately.
