Childhood Memories: Paper Cutting (Part 2)

Paper cutting was an essential New Year’s tradition—those intricate, colorful designs that adorned homes and spaces. Do you still remember them?

Today, we’re using 3D printing to recreate one such design—a versatile, modular ornament that can be endlessly connected and extended to decorate any surface or space where you need a touch of festive flair.

The only real challenge comes when it’s time to ensure the first layer is perfectly flat and smooth. Make sure to thoroughly clean the print bed before starting (otherwise, you’ll end up with uneven edges like the ones shown in the image below…). Once printing is complete, carefully scrape the piece off the bed by gently working your way around the edges—take your time and avoid rushing!

The model features both a front and back side, with interlocking tabs along the edges that securely snap together (these are quite delicate, so feel free to use tweezers for precise alignment). If you’d rather skip the hassle, you can always simply apply a small drop of glue at each corner to bond the pieces together.

Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous Spring Festival!
