Design Philosophy
The vessel’s form draws inspiration from traditional ancient “dan” bottles and “jing” bottles, featuring a slender, straight neck that tapers upward, with a plump, rounded body. The entire piece is finished in pure white, resembling the smooth texture of creamy jade or mutton fat, eschewing superfluous ornamentation to embrace the Song‑style aesthetic of negative space. Its elongated silhouette exudes elegance and composure, radiating an inherent sense of Zen tranquility.
Key Features of the Form and Craftsmanship
Linear Aesthetics: The design features a graduated profile—narrow at the top and wider at the base—enhancing its dynamic visual appeal. The slender neck visually lifts the piece, while the rounded belly provides stable balance. The overall contour flows seamlessly from narrow to broad, creating a harmonious interplay of light and shadow along the bottle’s length, resulting in a warm, refined appearance with striking sculptural qualities.
3D Integrated Molding: The entire bottle is printed as a single, seamless unit, with delicately smooth curved surfaces. Subtle layer lines are rendered as a matte texture, lending the surface a tactile quality reminiscent of plain white Ru ware porcelain.
Practical for Flower Arrangements: With its narrow mouth, this vase is ideally suited for single stems such as plum blossoms, willow branches, sweet flags, or dried twigs. Even when empty, it makes an elegant tabletop centerpiece.
Suitable Styles
It complements New Chinese Zen aesthetics, Japanese Wabi‑Sabi style, minimalist Nordic design, and natural wood interiors, making it perfect for tea ceremonies, studies, or entryways.
