When using the Switch 1/2 console with a dock connected to a TV, the device’s temperature tends to rise rapidly—often peaking at around 65°C within just an hour. Over time, many users have reported battery swelling due to prolonged high‑temperature operation. To address this issue, I designed the following stand. When not connected to a TV, the console can be placed directly on the stand; if you need to connect it to a TV, simply purchase a Type-C hub—my choice was the UGREEN Type-C hub, which supports both HDMI output and PD charging. Since activating TV mode requires PD charging, be sure to pay attention to this detail when making your purchase. On the back of the stand, I incorporated a pair of snap‑fit connectors that allow the hub to be securely clipped into place (I even attached a 100mm x 20mm x 10mm heatsink to the back of the hub—this not only helps dissipate heat but also doubles as a locking mechanism). After implementing this design, the console’s temperature dropped significantly, with a reduction of more than 10°C. If you’re accustomed to connecting your Switch to a TV for extended gaming sessions, you might want to consider printing this stand for yourself.
