Design Philosophy 

This 3D printer filament safety cutter is designed with a focus on user safety, allowing operators to effortlessly trim and cut printing filaments without compromising on security. 

Applications 

Primarily used for routine maintenance of 3D printers, this tool is ideal for cutting off excess filament and optimizing filament handling efficiency. 

Printing Recommendations 

We recommend using PLA or PETG filaments to enhance the durability of printed parts. For added strength, consider increasing the infill density as needed. 

Assembly Instructions 

To install, you’ll need a utility knife blade approximately 9 mm wide and 30–40 mm long. The mounting slots on the base are generously sized to accommodate blades of varying thicknesses. If your blade is relatively thin, you can apply a small strip of double-sided tape to the bottom of the blade before inserting it into the slot—and use pliers to securely clamp and position the blade during installation. The two connecting shafts of the safety cutter are designed to accept 1.75 mm filament; simply insert a short length of filament into the cutter to make a clean, precise cut. Be sure to pay attention to the orientation of the upper and lower housing halves when assembling—each has a specific direction that must be followed for proper alignment.

When installing the elastic ring, if the material differs and the ring doesn’t slide in smoothly, you can gently adjust the size of the elastic by slightly narrowing it. After printing, you can fine‑tune the opening width of the cutter by trimming the ends to your desired length.
