Screwdriver Carrot
A screwdriver handle that truly stuck
I made this screwdriver handle back in 2018. No marketing, no plans to publish it — just a convenient tool for myself. And, as often happens with things that really work well, it unexpectedly started to disappear.
Friends would come over, pick it up, turn it in their hands, smile, and say, “Give it to me.” I did. Then I printed another one. And so it went — again and again.
Over the years, the shape has proven itself. In this version, I decided to take the original idea and turn it into a fully universal solution.
Versatility for Different Bits
The handle is designed to work with:
- 55 mm long bits— the universal type, slotted on one side and Phillips on the other;
- Standard short bits, which are most commonly used in everyday work.
To support both formats, the model includes different magnet positions — higher or lower, depending on the bit type.
Magnets with a10 mm diameter and 3, 4, or 5 mm heightare used. As a result, there are six different model variants available. Choose the one that matches your magnet and print it.
Printing and Magnet Installation
If you use my preconfigured 3MF file , the process is straightforward. The printer automatically pauses at the correct layer, you insert the magnet, and then press “Continue printing.” The magnet is neatly sealed inside the model — secure, clean, and reliable.
If you prefer printing from an STL file and setting everything up yourself, just keep this step in mind. Once printing is finished, the magnet can no longer be inserted. Still, there’s nothing tricky about it — the process is simple and intuitive.

Why “Carrot”
Because it really looks like one.
Short, chunky, a little funny — and at the same time surprisingly comfortable.
This is not a classic long screwdriver handle, but a compact tool that fits naturally in your palm, lets you apply confident torque, and shines in non-standard situations where you just need to quickly turn or tighten something.
The ergonomics make it hard to put down once you pick it up. This is one of those cases where the shape doesn’t come from a textbook — it comes from feel.
Screwdriver Carrotis a compact, 3D-printed screwdriver handle for short and long bits, with a magnet sealed inside, well-thought-out ergonomics, and real character. Try it yourself, and you’ll immediately understand why I keep printing it again and again.
